  • Sustainable and above-average earnings growth prospects
  • Strong cash flow
  • A competitive advantage - a high market share, brand name or something which adds to our confidence in the growth outlook
  • A positive recent trading statement
  • An absence of heavy directors' selling and ideally some recent directors' buying
