2018/2019 ISA Limits

You can only open one cash ISA and one stocks and shares ISA to put new money into each tax-year. You can also transfer old ISA's into new ISA's.

Current Investment Limit 2018/2019

For all eligible investors, you can invest up to £20,000 in a stocks and shares ISA for this year (2018/2019), providing you have not contributed to another stocks and shares ISA with another provider already in this tax year. This limit is also inclusive of any cash ISA you may already hold this tax year meaning the total you may invest in a stocks and shares ISA is £20,000 less any amount invested in a cash ISA.

The illustrations below gives examples of the limits for cash and stocks and shares ISAs in this tax year:

  • If you invest £20,000 in a stocks and shares ISA, you may not invest any money into a cash ISA in this tax year.
